Description:
Alan Wood & Partners designed, detailed and obtained approvals for the highway, drainage and service infrastructure to enable the construction of 130 acres of residential development.
The site was originally predominantly market gardens with also some agricultural usage and the original commission from Shirethorn Ltd. was for the design, detail and fulltime supervision of the construction of the “spine roads” to enable access through the site.
Following the site being purchased by Bovis Homes Ltd., Alan Wood & Partners continued the design and detail of main infrastructure works including the upgrading of a major traffic light junction and construction of drainage storage lagoons. In addition, the highway and drainage infrastructure for the Bovis Homes housing developments was designed, detailed and approval obtained from the relevant bodies by Alan Wood & Partners.
Land was also sold by Bovis Homes Ltd. to Barratt (York) Ltd. and David Wilson Homes Ltd. Due to Alan Wood & Partners’ history of working for both of these companies and our detailed knowledge of the site, we were employed to design, detail and gain approval for the infrastructure for their housing developments.
