Description:

Pindar Graphics Plc

This project comprised the refurbishment and extension to a factory and associated offices such that the building presented the corporate image of Pindar Graphics Plc.

The original building was constructed in phases between the early 1970’s and 1990’s but had been unoccupied for several years and was consequentially in a state of disrepair. Phase 1 of the refurbishment was to ensure the building was weather tight and secure and that all contamination from the previous manufacturing operations were removed.

To complete Phase 1 the existing asbestos sheeting was stripped and replaced by composite panel, and the existing oil contaminated slab was replaced.

Phase 2 of the redevelopment comprised the refurbishment of the office to provide an open plan office and triple span portal frame extension with mezzanine floor to provide an additional 1500m² of floor space to the factory. All works had to comply with the “Secure by Design” specification due to the nature of the material produced within the factory.

All works had to be completed to a stringent programme to enable the client to commence production dates, including partial handovers. This required detailed co-ordination of works to ensure safe working practices were maintained throughout.
