Project: LPT Police Stations
Location: Humberside Police Area
Client: Humberside Police Authority
Consulting Engineer: Alan Wood & Partners
Contractor: Quibell & Son Ltd
Architect: ESA Ltd
Project Value: £12million
Description:
The Chief Constable of Humberside Police Force and the Police Authority agreed that the most suitable solution to deliver quality and life policing, was to introduce local police teams within the community. To achieve this 24 police stations would be required.
The Police Authority tendered the works on a Partnering arrangement with Quibell & Son Ltd’s team being successful.
The Partnership has developed a range of 30, 50 and 70 person police stations to a standard design, with the potential to extend the units if required. These units have adapted recommendations from the Eagon Report.
The building is designed as load bearing masonry structures with precast concrete floors and timber roof trusses. The roof covering is an energy efficient low maintenance metal roof or composite tile subject to the planning requirements.
