Our Engineering Team In Hull, East Yorkshire

Chairman/Director: Chris Medlin – BSc.(Hons), CEng., MICE., RMaPS

Chris started with Alan Wood & Partners in 1979 and he was promoted to associate in 1989. He headed the Scarborough office from 1991 to 1994 before returning to the Hull office as Director of the Civils team and also Company Secretary. Chris became Chairman of Alan Wood & Partners in 2006. He has vast experience in all aspects of Civil Engineering and has been involved in many projects including marine works.

Director: Nick Ward – BEng, (Hons), MEng, CEng, MICE

A Chartered Civil Engineer Nick started work in our Scarborough office in 1996, initially as an Associate and becoming a Director in 2002. He has extensive experience in general Civil and Structural Engineering as well as Building Surveying. Nick moved to the Hull office in 2009 to run the Civil and Structural Engineering team.

Associate: Chris Cozens – MEng(Hons), CEng, MICE

Chris is a Chartered Engineer with over 20 years experience and runs a team of Civil and Structural Engineers and Technicians. Chris has previously worked with international engineering consultancies and contractors in a broad range of Civil engineering and building structures and has experience in a wide variety of structures including coastal and maritime works, power stations, wind farms, bridges and rail infrastructure.

Section Leader: Andy Ringrose – BA (Hons), IEng, MIED, MIHT

Andy joined Alan Wood and Partners in 1989 and after attaining status as an Incorporated Engineer and membership to the Institute of Engineering Designers and Highways and Transportation he was promoted to Section Leader in 2001. Andy has a team of Engineers and Technicians dealing with general Civil Engineering. However, Andy's specialty is roads, drainage and highways.

Section Leader: John Elsom – HNC

John is a long standing member of the Alan Wood & Partners staff working in the Structural Design team since 1978. With an extensive knowledge of Structural Design, John has over the past few years specialised in Modular Buildings and played a large part in the design team for the tallest Modular Building in the world. John is also working on a number of projects for the Ministry of Defence and HM Prisons.
