Nunnington Hall

SPRING visitors to Nunnington Hall, the National Trust property near Malton, will be the first to use a new purpose-built 22 metre bridge spanning the River Rye from the car park to the historic National Trust property.

The design of which is intended to reduce flooding risks and provide improved wheelchair access – replaces a smaller wooden footbridge which has spanned the river since the early 1980s after it began to show signs of wear and tear.

The bridge was designed by Alan Wood & Partners York office using galvanized steel trusses and seasoned oak cladding and has been constructed by Simpsons (York) Ltd.
