The role

As a Graduate / Civil Engineer within the civils team, your primary focus will be to undertake civil engineering design, while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

The ideal candidate will be able to use their skills and knowledge to add value to a diverse range of construction projects. Current projects include highways, schools, colleges and universities, commercial, residential, industrial, petrochemical, food, and energy.

In your role, you will contribute to and oversee the production of technical drawings, calculations, and specifications, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated design solutions. You will be expected maintain high technical standards and build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues.

You will need to organise your work in a structured manner, collaborating with colleagues to address fluctuations in resource demand and assisting in prioritising project delivery.

Required for the position

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • You should be a proactive, self-motivated, enthusiastic and engaging team player.
  • A bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required; a master's degree would be an advantage.
  • Ideally 1 to 3 years post-graduate experience in civil engineering
  • Experience and interest in Highways preferred
  • Working towards Chartered Engineer status with a relevant professional body
  • Capable of the effective use of industry-standard software such as Autocad. Some experience in Civil 3D and InfoDraiange preferred
  • A solid understanding of relevant codes and regulations.
  • Have effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for engaging with clients and team members.
  • Full UK driving licence.
