Alan Wood & Partners Achieves Reaccreditation under ISO 19650 for Building Information Modelling (BIM)

08 July 2026

We are pleased to announce that we have achieved reaccreditation to ISO 19650 for Building Information Modelling (BIM), following a successful Full Implementation Assessment (FIA) completed in May 2026.

This achievement is part of our ongoing commitment to upholding the highest standards in digital construction, information management and ISO 19650 compliance. It demonstrates the effectiveness of our BIM procedures and reinforces our commitment to delivering high-quality, collaborative digital information across all sectors.

This latest assessment not only confirmed the strength of our existing systems and processes but also provided an opportunity to deepen our understanding of the BIM Lead Appointed Party (LAP) role, enabling the team to develop additional project-specific skills that will further enhance AWP's internal BIM delivery and Information Management systems.

Particular recognition goes to the Lincoln team, especially Olivia Jones, Kameron Sherwood and Nathan Barber, whose efforts were instrumental in achieving the successful assessment outcome.

The reaccreditation builds on a BIM journey that began in April 2023, when AWP first achieved ISO 19650 certification, led by the Lincoln team through the successful delivery of the Etex Project, a £200m new Plasterboard factory in Bristol. During the subsequent three-year accreditation period, AWP successfully completed four surveillance visits (SV), drawing on project case studies from across the business:

  • SV-1: Smith & Nephew (Hull)
  • SV-2: Skegness Tech (York)
  • SV-3: Brunswick School Project (Sheffield)
  • SV-4: HMP Channings Wood (Leeds)

These projects demonstrated the consistent application of BIM and Information Management principles across our multidisciplinary teams and regional offices.

We would also like to thank Sean McCormick of LRQA for his support throughout our ISO 19650 journey, and to the many colleagues who continue to maintain and improve our BIM standards.

A special thank you goes to our BIM & Compliance Leads, David Scrafton, Simon Warcup and Alison Ringrose, whose dedication and expertise have been instrumental in developing and enhancing AWP's BIM processes, documentation and compliance systems.

This reaccreditation reflects the collective efforts of teams across the business and further reassures our clients that Alan Wood & Partners remains at the forefront of digital delivery, information management and industry best practice.

Congratulations to everyone involved in this important achievement.
