AWP Appointed as Civil & Structural Engineers for M181 Southern Junction Phase 2

AWP undertook the design and construction support of the successful and recently constructed Phase 1 M181 roundabout. This second phase includes the delivery of a new eastern roundabout, providing essential access to the first phase of residential development to the north. The junction also creates a more direct link between Scunthorpe and the M181/A1077(M) towards the M180, reducing reliance on Doncaster Road and improving journey times for local communities.

Phase 2 transforms the approved three-arm roundabout into a five-arm configuration. The enhanced design:

· Facilitates access to future southern development land

· Introduces a temporary arm to maintain connectivity on Burringham Road prior to construction of the future western roundabout

· Ensures safe, continuous pedestrian and cyclist routes throughout both temporary and permanent phases.
