RoRo Project

Alan Wood and Partners

This Nationally Significant Port Infrastructure Project will provide new Roll on Roll off (RoRo) river berths and a terminal in Immingham, supporting increased freight demand, quicker sailing times and the option to accommodate larger vessels.

Description of Works

The project includes the delivery of new river berths for accompanied and unaccompanied freight alongside 47 acres of landside infrastructure to support logistics and border procedures. Facilities include trailer storage areas, an internal bridge over existing port infrastructure, Border Force inspections & passport control, booking facilities and staff welfare provision, all of which are essential to the smooth operation of the terminal.

Engineering Factors

Alan Wood and Partners is providing NEC4 project management support and extensive stakeholder management across the development, helping to coordinate the various elements of a large, live operational environment. Our involvement supports safe access planning, coordination of dock movements, and the successful integration of river berthing with the wider landside facilities.

By working closely with stakeholders and operational teams, we are helping ensure the project progresses efficiently while maintaining safety, regulatory compliance and continuity of existing port operations. The result is a future‑ready facility that enables growth, flexibility and improved logistical capability at Immingham.
