Sports Centre Redevelopment

Initially appointed by WT Partnership, AWP were asked to assist with the development of the scheme to gain planning permission. This included carrying out the ground investigation & flood risk assessments and providing the drainage strategy that complied with the National Planning Policy Framework. Latterly novated over to the contractor, AWP’s appointment includes full civil and structural engineering design services to develop a scheme that meets the cost constraints, working in conjunction with Morgan Sindall, Southampton City Council and other consultants. Once complete the facility will comprise of a new two storey community hub with gym, café, changing facilities & indoor tennis courts, three artificial grass football pitches, upgraded cricket & hockey facilities, and new athletic hub located next to the running track with extended spectator stand. Along with this, there will be a new play zone and a revamp to the Alpine Snowsports Centre.
